Sandals Royal Curaçao

This was our 3rd Sandals vacation & quite possibly the nicest resort. But sadly, it’s just not up to par yet. The service was definitely lacking & while this wouldn’t typically impact our trip, both my husband & I got food poisoning separately. My husband’s was so severe that I wanted to take him to the hospital but he insisted on waiting until we got back home. UPDATE: We just received my husbands test results back upon returning home. He had salmonella poisoning. The best part of our trip was the scuba diving which was absolutely beautiful. Everyone at the Aqua Center was great. We took some extra courses & our instructor Roderick was awesome. If you don’t care about the quality of the food & service, then I’d say it’s still worth it. But if you’re in it for 5-star service & food, give it some time. Lastly, it is still under construction so depending where your room is, you’ll probably still hear noise quite early in the morning & sometimes at night. Overall, great potential, just not there yet :(

My experience felt magical. I left the resort about three weeks ago and I am still reliving it in my head. And smiling. I have been to several Sandals and they all have their unique touches, but I think this one reveals the company's plans for an even more elevated experience. The resort is beautiful, picture perfect. The pool is stunning, got some great pictures there. The rooms are very clean, I did not feel the need to douse it with Lysol- I still did because it's my ritual but It definitely was not necessary. Everyone was so helpful and welcoming from concierge to housekeeping. Food was delicious, I definitely ate too much. The gym helped out, all up to date equipment. I do wish there were more local selections of food, so that I could experience the food from the island as well as local or cultural entertainment. I also wished there was more beachside drink and food service, where they bring the drinks to you. But that's minor. I definitely loved the bikes on site. I live in NYC, so it was nice to have a beautiful and peaceful place to ride for a change. It made me feel like a kid again. Sandal's complimentary buses to and from the airport is a plus because a cab ride is going to run you $75 or more. One word of advise if you are interested in going to Butch's steak house, book your reservation as soon as you arrive or before, if that's possible. That place gets booked fast, and you may not get to go during your whole trip. Service was a bit slow at the steak house, because everyone wants to go there and it's packed BUT I can tell the staff was working on that , tried their best and were friendly. If you decide to eat at the Mediterranean restaurant try to get a view of the ocean, there is nothing more thrilling than eating good food and looking out at the water. Overall my trip was great, can't wait to go back!

Unfortunately we just returned home from this sandals. What an amazing experience. First and foremost, I want to thank Simeon, one of the diving instructors at the resort! He was amazing with his patience, clear directions, and helpfulness. Not to mention his incredible knowledge of what to see on our dives, and getting my girlfriend and I both PADI certified as divers. Thank you so much Simeon! Secondly, a big thank you to our housekeeping crew for keeping room 2240 looking amazing and stocked with everything we needed throughout our stay. The food was excellently prepared and delicious. And to all the staff, very well done on your courtesy and helpfulness throughout our stay. Sandals Curaçao will be our high standard on our next Sandals trip. Thank you all so much for an amazing time
